Greetings! I am a 5th year PhD candidate in the  Institute of Child Development's Developmental Psychology program advised by Drs. Canan Karatekin and Megan Gunnar. I also recently completed a three-year population studies predoctoral training program in the Minnesota Population Center under the mentorship of Dr. Theresa Osypuk. Prior to attending the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, I received a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Broadly, my research is focused on how structural determinants of health inequities shape the neighborhood context and how neighborhoods subsequently influence mental and physiological health.

During my doctoral degree, I have worked with an interdisciplinary team of researchers across developmental psychology to develop my expertise in these areas of interest. Thus far, my doctoral work has largely emphasized the downstream consequences of residing in poor neighborhoods as well as the role of political factors and budgetary policies in shaping child health. I have also received training in developmental psychobiology, including launching a study designed to examine the moderating role of coping in the association between community violence exposure and cortisol reactivity under the mentorship of Dr. Gunnar.

Outside of academia, I enjoy figure skating, reading, and exploring all of Minneapolis' parks with my kiddo.
